In the culture I grew up in, saying "Good morning" is a big deal, especially the younger saying it to the older. I believe this is the same in most cultures, but with time some things have been labelled as "traditional.". I believe some "traditional" values are good, and they are Kingdom values, but with anything traditional, if it is done without the mind of Christ, it becomes just tradition!

When I became a parent, I thought I’d instil this "good morning" value in my kids when they started talking. Some days they said it; sometimes they wouldn’t. I will get irritated if they don’t say it and sometimes go on a rant.

One day as I was ranting, I felt the Holy Spirit say- Why wait for "Good morning"? Why can’t you be the first to say it?

. I repented, and I have retrained myself to be the first to say good morning at home and in most places I find myself.

When a believer says "good morning" to someone, I see it as a prophetic declaration. You are telling that person "Your morning will be good because I have declared; and when you receive "good morning" from a believer, see it as a prophetic declaration into your day!

So, Good morning! You are blessed and highly favoured! Go win for His Kingdom!
