"Favour is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."
Proverbs 3:3-4 NKJV
[3] Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, [4] And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.
I have always been fascinated by God’s favour. The world calls it luck, but I believe this should be our natural state as believers and children of God. Why shouldn’t the world favour us? Our Dad owns heaven and earth!
Realizing this allows us to walk with our heads held high, knowing that amazing opportunities will come our way!
Jesus, our Saviour, experienced this exact favour with God and men while He walked on earth:
Luke 2:52 NKJV
[52] And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
The opening passage in Proverbs gives you and me the absolute key to unlocking this favour: Mercy and Truth. Some Bible translations use the words Love and Faithfulness.
I am so encouraged today to show God’s love in every situation I find myself in—to be merciful and to bring truth wherever I go. Actively walking this way reflects the very nature of God. And in doing so, we will be the ones who experience true favour with both God and man!
Go into the world today knowing fully well that you carry the very nature of God inside you through the Holy Spirit. God has some fantastic opportunities lined up for you as you bring His nature into your world!
