Dance therapy has become a thing! In fact, the NHS now prescribes dance therapy as part of its social prescribing scheme.
Dance therapy, also known as dance/movement therapy (DMT), is a mental health treatment that uses movement to improve a person’s emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. It can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, eating disorders, PTSD, Low self-esteem, Body image concerns, grief, and Parkinson’s disease.
Dance therapy can also improve sleep and increase energy. It can help people feel their bodies, reconnect with them, and increase feelings of safety.
The Bible talks a fair bit about dancing. Here is one: Psalms 149:3-4 NLT
[3] Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. [4] For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
Dance for no reason! Put on that music and move your body. Trust me you’ll feel better for it!
