Our kids are getting to the age where we are trying to get them to play their part in the upkeep of the house. It will be ridiculous to expect this from them when they were babies.

As we grow as Christians, certain things are required of us. We are duty bound to play our part in building the kingdom of God.

Everyone has a part to play. You might feel more passionate about playing in the church community, or your passion could be bringing in people from the outside into the fold; I believe it should be both. Whichever way you see your natural inclination, the fact still remains we are duty bound to play our part.

For balance, I know of people who are very busy in their work or family life, and they sometimes see Sunday gatherings as a time to replenish. If these people are active gatherers (evangelistic) in their day-to-day lives, I think the community should be aware of this and try to give them a break because they are already playing their part, though it might not be visible in church meetings.

Colossians 3:23-24 AMP

[23] Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, [24] knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.

How is God calling you to work in His Kingdom? Put your hands on the plough! You have a part to play.
