Confession of errors is like a broom

Sometime last year, I wrote and spoke about losing a job due to my own dishonesty. Up until that social media post, I thought I had moved on from the incident because I would talk about it with some friends and family, but it wouldn’t be the first thing I’ll reveal about myself to anyone except I think it’s absolutely necessary for the kind of relationship I’ll have with the person. I didn’t need to make the post, but FOR ME, I felt an indescribable urge to do it.

After making that post, there was an indescribable relief. It might have seemed silly to people reading the post and watching the video, but it made me feel good inside. A feeling I can’t put to words.

Unconfessed sin has a way of holding us captive.

Healing comes through confession and prayer! I believe there are certain ongoing battles that we face as Christians that the root MIGHT be as a result of an unconfessed sin (this is my belief). We might have stopped engaging in the act, but not confessing it has a way of keeping us in the place where we feel "ashamed or guilty" about it, thereby keeping us captive in a way (again, it is my thought due to experience—speak to your pastor for further guidance

I base my assertion on 1 John 1:9 and Rev 12 vs 11

I believe total restoration from sin involves you telling another believer about it in the way of confession.

God wants to restore you; the baggage you are carrying is not yours. Your words have a releasing power because of the blood of Jesus and the price He paid on the cross for you and me.

Find a faithful Christian to confess your sin to, and you will be restored.
