No one was ever honoured for what they received
"No one was ever honoured for what they received; honour has been, and will be, the reward for what they gave!"

In many cultures, honour is seen as an outward gesture. Some people will like prostrating or kneeling down in a show of respect. I don’t detest it; I will gladly do the outward gestures if it communicates honour to the receiver, but is it really honour?
Apostle Paul was encouraging the believers in Rome, and he said this:
Isn’t it interesting that we can owe honour! The interesting thing about the debt of honour is that you are the only one you know to whom you owe it. And I want to believe it pleases the Lord when it’s paid.
The payment of honour is a good relationship—letting that person you owe it to know that they have a special place in your heart. Gifts, recognition, periodic phone calls, visits etc., are all ways of showing honour.
“[7] Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

In summary
Honour also is not only older to younger; it’s showing appreciation to anyone who has impacted your life positively regardless of age!
If you owe honour, pay it. It pleases God in ways we are yet to know. Be blessed!
