The fruit of Desire is Pursuit
Just over 10 years ago I attended a prayer meeting. It was only 3 of us in attendance. At some point, I started crying. I looked at the younger man of the two men and said, I feel God said you train me. I was so scared to say it

. I don’t know why, but it could be that I didn’t want to show vulnerability. Pride can sometimes block the way to progress!
After I said those words, this man said, "Bolade, it’s funny because I’ve been praying that God brings people for me to train" (or words to that effect). The relief I felt was like a lanced boil.
Over a year ago, I started praying the same prayer, i.e., God, please bring people I can play a role in their lives. At this point, I was going for regular morning walks, and I was posting on Facebook like I do now. All of a sudden, a great friend reached out to me.
He will drive 11 miles one way. We will meet up at 6 am to walk. This means that he will leave home around 5:30 am. We talked; we sharpened one another. This went on for months. Once a week!
I think 8 months after we started our conversations, he bought a house.
Truthful conversations always yield fruit.
It was not a one-way relationship. It is a relationship of two equals. One older, the other younger. Looking at the fruit of his life has blessed me. Thank you, friend, for who you are, for checking up on me, for caring and for yielding to advice, and for making me disciplined in my walk. I know there is more to come for both of us if we keep our eyes on Jesus.
The funny thing is that we are both products of the same soil, watered by the same men. I love fellowship and all the people God has brought into our lives. We are connected for a reason!
